A
Cosmetologist is a licensed beauty professional who
is trained to perform services on the head, face,
neck, shoulders, arms, hands, legs or feet of a
customer. These services may include cutting or
trimming the hair, hair styling, curling, permanent
waving, coloring, bleaching and highlighting.
Additionally, a Cosmetologist may also perform
manicures, pedicures, scalp and facial treatments,
makeup analysis, clean and style wigs and
hairpieces, massage and removal of unwanted hair
using depilatories (waxing). A Cosmetology license
is considered a complete license unlike a licensed
Nail Technician or Aesthetician, which is considered
a partial license because these professionals
perform only nail and skin-related services.
